Italian Lakes part one

From Florence we headed to the Lakes.
We passed by Lake Como

Before crossing the border into Switzerland and stopping at Lugarno for lunch.

This was our lunch view.
Switzerland was beautiful and clean, no graffiti , very expensive, has very flash cars, and the drivers stop at the pedestrian crossings for you!

After lunch we headed back into Italy and onto Lake Maggiore which would be our base for the next two nights.
We were staying at Stresa which is a really beautiful little town.
There are amazing hotels along the lake.
This was ours
Inside it was just as stunning.
This is the foyer.

They had telephone booths along the wall.
We were waiting for an announcement "telephone call for Mr Smart in booth 3"

There was incredible furniture everywhere .

There was a really long passage to walk along to get to our room. This shows about 1/4 of it. If you did not want to walk you could take an elevator that went sideways instead of up!

At the end of the passageway was this stained glass dome

We sort of had a lake view from our room

We had dinner at the hotel in the evening and it was very posh.
